NHS 2017 abstract may related to various aspects of food and nutrition research :

 

  • Childhood nutrition
  • Adult nutrition
  • Elderly nutrition
  • Macro and micronutrients
  • Dietary supplements
  • Oxidative stress & Antioxidants
  • Prophetic foods
  • Nutrient deficiency-related diseases
  • Diet related to non-communicable diseases (NCDs)
  • Methodologies in dietary assessments
  • Healthy diet promotion

 

 

Guidelines for abstracts submission

  • General guidelines
    • Abstract can only be submitted online via attachment (as example provided)
    • Abstract must be written in English using Arial font size 11
    • Abstract must be previously unpublished work at the time of submission and after the end of the conference
    • All first authors (submitting author) must be a registered participant. The first author refers to the first name that appears on the abstract
    • The presenting author must be the first (submitting) author
    • An abstract must be submitted with the intention that, if accepted, it will be presented by the first author.
    • List of all the authors, identify the affiliations and underline the name of the first author
    • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject the abstract
    • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine the mode of presentation (oral, poster or e-poster) of the submitted abstract upon acceptance.

Abstract format :

Research outcome

  • A structured abstract of a maximum of 300 words must be submitted
  • An abstract must comprise of:
  • Introduction: a brief introduction or background of the research
    • Objectives: state the main objective (s) of the research
    • Methods: Describe the setting, study design, study population, data collection, laboratory technique and statistical analysis used
    • Results: Clear, concise and precise finding/outcome of the study
    • Conclusion: Briefly discuss the outcome and the implication of the study
    • Abstracts must be submitted with the intention that the research described in the abstract will be the work that is presented with the same title and content.
    • A research protocol without a proper analysis of result will not be accepted

 Case report & case series

  • An interesting or unique presentation of clinical case will be considered under this category
  • A structured abstract of a maximum of 350 words must be submitted
  • The abstract must comprise of:
    • Introduction: a brief description on the ‘uniqueness’ of the case
    • Case report/case series: a detail clinical presentation of the case report/case series
    • Conclusion: briefly discuss the clinical implication of the reported case
      The first author must ensure the right of the patient(s) is not violated if the picture(s) of the patient is included during the presentation

 Acceptance and rejection

  • The first author will be notified via email after the closing date of abstract submission
  • The first author email address provided in the abstract submission must be correct or notifications and other abstract related correspondence cannot be delivered.
  • Proof of payment must be submitted upon acceptance of abstract
